A charming clown show by Fiona Colliss
Fiona Colliss - trained clown, circus artist, youth theatre leader and registered "Clown Doctor" - packed out Mull Little Theatre even on the hottest days last year with this wonderful family friendly show for all ages.
This is the story of Red, whose mission is to protect two eggs that are bound for Earth in a spaceship. Red must protect, love, entertain and educate the precious eggs on their journey. She does her best to keep the eggs happy, but sometimes she gets carried away and things don’t go to plan! A very family friendly show, suitable for all ages.
Normally, I'm the kind of person who has to be carried out of clown shows, catatonic with boredom. But Colliss's clowning, delivered in a sparkly purple catsuit rather than the usual baggy gear, struck me as elegant, original, emotionally appealing and unusually thoughtful. The kids certainly loved it and, as for the large numbers of holiday-duty dads in the audience - well, oddly enough, on a sunny afternoon in Dervaig, they weren't complaining much either.”
